Our StoryUnited Defenders was built on a lifelong passion for the Land Rover Defender. Founder Eddie Bostock began his career in England as one of the youngest Land Rover technicians to graduate in the 1980s before bringing his expertise to the United States, where he spent decades restoring, servicing, and engineering Land Rovers for enthusiasts across the country. After relocating to Arizona in 2020, Eddie founded BOS4—a name inspired by the Bostock family—which quickly earned a reputation for uncompromising craftsmanship, engineering excellence, and a genuine passion for preserving these iconic vehicles. As the company evolved, so did its vision, leading to the creation of United Defenders: a brand that better represents their commitment to the Defender community and their mission to build some of the finest bespoke Defenders in the world. Today, every project—whether it's a complete signature build, an LS3 conversion, or a carefully planned modernization—is approached with the same philosophy: preserve the legend, embrace modern engineering, and create a Defender that is meant to be driven, enjoyed, and passed down for generations.

Born and raised in the UK, Eddie Bostock has over 40 years in the Land Rover world. One of the youngest technicians to graduate in the 1980s, he moved to California after a former instructor helped him join the new Land Rover Newport Beach dealership. He rose to Shop Foreman, co-founded the Southern California Land Rover Club, and became a leading Defender specialist.
After founding West Coast Rovers, Southern California’s top independent Land Rover shop, Eddie moved to Arizona and started BOS4, which became United Defenders. He now focuses on bespoke Defender restorations and modernizations—LS3-powered conversions, custom interiors, and advanced climate systems—preserving Defender character while delivering modern luxury refinement.

David’s Land Rover journey began at 13, driving Series vehicles on a nearby farm. For over four decades, he’s worked in competition prep, expeditions, off-road instruction, dealership leadership, and luxury automotive management with Jaguar, Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Lamborghini. His career spans global expeditions, including Border to Border in North America, and roles such as General Manager of Nene Overland. At United Defenders, he applies deep technical knowledge and a lifelong passion for Defenders to craft bespoke vehicles that preserve heritage while adding modern performance, comfort, and reliability.
